We fished the saltwater bays around Rockport for two day wading for speckled trout and redfish. The crew caught plenty of nice speckled trout and some over sized redfish on soft plastic baits. Many of the fish were released to fight another day. The second afternoon we caught redfish, speckled trout, and big black drum on plastic Bass Assassins  on 1/16 oz. lead heads in thigh deep water from scattered sand spots in the grass. It was a great trip and everyone caught plenty of fish.

The saltwater fishing continues to be great in the bays around Rockport and Port Aransas, Texas. The speckled trout fishing is the best it has been in many years. The large female trout are in the shallow bays and are very hungry. Topwater plugs and plastic baits like the Bass Assassins are very effective.
