Today we were back fishing for redfish. Cool weather and wind seems to turn  redfish on. We used cut mullet, cut menhaden, and fresh dead shrimp. the shrimp produced most of the bites and caught us some bonus black drum. everyone had a great day and will have a great fresh fish dinner. 013

We had a few days of nice weather and the speckled trout cooperated. We wade fished drop offs and small drains with Corkys and plastics fished on 1/8th oz. lead heads. The fish were better than average with a few over 20″. Artificals fished slow and near the bottom resulted in smashing strikes. Everyone caught fish and had a great time.

We were fishing in Aransas Bay for redfish on a cool windy day. we used a variety of baits but dead shrimp seemed to be the winner. Light braided lines and small circle hooks (4/0) were the answer. The action was steady and the result was a nice box of fish. plus everyone had a great time.

We fished for redfish and black drum. The bait of choice was fresh dead shrimp. and cut mullet. The wind was up and the windward side of a spoil island was the secret spot. The dead shrimp as fished free line with no weight and allowed to drift free. I use 20 LB braid and a 20 LB mono or fluorocarbon leader with a 4/0 or 5/0 circle hook.  Just leave the rod in the rod holder until the fish hooks itself. Great fishing and great eating.
