We fished the Traylor Island area of Aransas Bay today. The bigger trout were on the drop off near the grass edge in knee deep water. The were feeding on white shrimp. The Berkley Gulp 4″ white shrimp was the bait of choice. The trout wanted the Gulp deep and slow. We choose a 1/8 oz. lead head with the 4″ white or natural gulp. When you felt the strike you had to wait about 30 seconds then set the hook. They were bigger trout than the schoolies in the 4 to 5 foot water. Later we moved inside to Estes Flats and fished several large sand spot and picked up some nice redfish.
